SUCCESS STORIES / MERCY MINISTRIES
"The Grace Foundation UK were one of the first groups to help us set up our Yorkshire based home for young women aged 16-28 with life controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, depression and the effects of abuse."
Mercy Ministries UK operates unique residential homes for young women aged 16-28 with life controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, depression and the effects of abuse.
The Yorkshire based home opened in September 2006 and the Grace Foundation were one of the first to donate money to help renovate the premises, before it even opened it’s doors.
By early 2007 Mercy was home to 8 residents following a support programme including one-to-one counselling, group sessions, life skills training and even Equine Assisted Therapy, provided on site by a qualified ‘horse whisperer’.
The programme so far in 2007 has seen great success, with the first three residents graduating in March and April 07. With the capacity to house 12 residents there are now plans to increase the intake to 25 so that more help is available for these young women.
“Many thanks to the generosity and kindness of the Grace Foundation to support MMUK and help make what was a vision into reality for countless young women across the UK”
