Success Stories: The Model Farm Project

For over 20 years, the project has been providing horse riding lessons for disadvantaged and mixed ability children in Leeds. In 2005, we prevented the project’s closure and ensured its future success.

Success Stories: The Model FarmSince 1985, the Model Farm Project in Meanwood, Leeds, has provided children of all ages with horse riding lessons and a chance to experience the simple pleasures of life in a working stable. However, in 2005, due to escalating insurance costs and increased running costs the project faced closure. Thankfully, the Grace Foundation was able to provide financial assistance and volunteers to help with day to day tasks.  We also helped organise a gymkhana style fun day to raise the profile of the centre and kick start fundraising. The day itself was a resounding success and since then, the Project and the partnership have gone from strength to strength.

"We are all delighted here, this is amazing news. There is hardwork ahead, but we’re really pleased this stile has been crossed. "
